Handcrafted in our Devon workshop, the Reclaimed Oak Farmhouse Table is made from real wood and, better still, made from high quality reclaimed, salvaged oak, so you can own your new furniture content in the knowledge that no new trees were cut down to make it. It is a rustic and charming piece of furniture.
 
The timber is sourced as locally as possible to cut down our carbon footprint. Your reclaimed oak farmhouse table will be made from old beams and floorboards to provide a timeless, rustic charm. They are solidly constructed to last a lifetime and each one is totally unique. Only quality salvageable timbers are used to craft our tables - meaning the tables which are created will be long-lasting and sturdy. Reclaimed wood furniture and reclaimed wood dining tables are considered to be investment furniture that will stand the test of time.
 
If you are looking for a perfectly flat surface and flat edges, reclaimed wood would not be recommended. 
 
The Reclaimed Oak Farmhouse Table features a smooth, sturdy, durable table top measuring approximately 1.5 inches thick and is beautifully finished with elegant hand turned legs. The tables are hand waxed in a medium oak finish and we then apply a coat of natural, clear bees wax polish before despatch.
 
Because reclaimed oak is often distressed and marked by the passage of time, a table made from this material will usually feature imperfections such as nicks, knots, scratches, or uneven surfaces. These imperfections are part of the table's character and lend it a sense of history and authenticity and should not be deemed a defect. Because oak trees can take well over one hundred years to grow and live for more than 300 years, their timbers are much stronger, heavier and denser than those of pine trees. Oak is much less prone to scratching or denting.  
 
Unevenness and small shallows in the wood are to be expected. The top of your table may not be perfectly flat as reclaimed wood is not an engineered or manufactured surface. Timbers are arranged to showcase each, bump, dip, knot and crack as these features give our pieces their individuality and charm.

Crafted with great care and attention, every table is made to order with a lead time of approximately 6-8 weeks depending on levels of demand.  
 
Delivery included to UK Mainland addresses using a professional two man team to deliver from Devon. These are large and heavy items so please be aware delivery is to a ground floor location only.
 
Your table will be delivered in two sections; the frame/base and then the tabletop. The top will need securing to the base with wooden fixings included, but we do recommend using an electric screwdriver for ease. Assembly Instructions and Care Guide will be emailed to you but we recommend reading our Care Guide located at the foot of our website prior to purchasing reclaimed furniture.

Table Height: Approximately 78/79 cm.
 
Our reclaimed tables are approximately 78/79cm high and made to fit standard height chairs measuring from floor to seat of approximately 45cm to 46cm. If you need your table to be made taller to accommodate taller chairs or stools, please let us know and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries at all with respect to chair / table height.
 
Aftercare:
Your reclaimed oak table will need nourishing once every 4 weeks with a coat of clear, natural beeswax polish (we recommend Parr's Clear Bees Wax Polish). We also ask our customers to give the tables a good buff with the pot of complimentary polish in the care kit supplied once you have received it and it is in place to help it settle in.  Wood is a natural material that expands and contracts as it releases and absorbs moisture.
 
Clear, natural beeswax polish adds moisture to the wood and provides nourishment to keep your table in tip top condition. Please do not place your table in direct sunlight or next to a heat source as this can dry out the wood and cause cracks to appear. Failure to add moisture to your table can also cause movement and cracks. 
 
To prevent marks from plates, glasses and cups - we recommend coasters and placemats be used. Please do not place hot dishes or plates directly onto your table - it is not heatproof.
 
​Please Note: Unfortunately we are not able to offer a colour matching service. All of our tables are finished in a medium wax finish; however, due to the unique nature of reclaimed wood, every piece we create is bespoke and may differ in appearance from the photographs shown. These natural variations are part of the charm and individuality of your handmade table. As such, we are unable to accept returns due to a change of heart. We also cannot take responsibility for damage resulting from failure to follow the guidance provided in our Care Guide.  Made to order furniture is non-returnable as these are custom orders and as such are non-refundable once they have been built.
