Designed with clean lines, sturdy square legs and a slimmer profile than our traditional chunky benches, this versatile reclaimed wood bench offers a simpler, more modern rustic style whilst still bringing warmth, character and sustainability into your home. Handmade Sustainable Reclaimed Wood Furniture

Each bench seat is handcrafted to order in our Devon workshop using locally sourced reclaimed pine, including salvaged beams and floorboards full of natural texture and history. By using reclaimed timber, no new trees are cut down in the making of your furniture, making every piece an environmentally conscious and sustainable choice. Every bench is completely unique, showcasing the authentic beauty and character that only reclaimed wood can provide.

Solid reclaimed pine seat approximately 3cm thick

Strong 10cm wide square legs

Medium wax hand-finished surface

Final polish with clear natural beeswax for nourishment and protection

Natural Character of Reclaimed Wood

Reclaimed timber is naturally full of character and variation. Uneven surfaces, knots, dips, cracks, markings and texture are all part of the individuality and charm of handmade reclaimed furniture. As reclaimed wood is not engineered or machine perfected, the top of your bench may not be completely flat throughout. These natural imperfections are celebrated features of reclaimed furniture and should not be considered defects. If you are looking for a perfectly smooth or uniform surface, reclaimed wood may not be suitable.

Hand Finished for Protection & Longevity

Each bench seat is hand-finished in a warm medium wax before being polished with clear natural beeswax to enhance the grain, nourish the wood and provide lasting protection. To help care for your furniture, we recommend avoiding direct sunlight and placing your bench away from radiators, fires or strong heat sources, as excessive heat can dry the timber and encourage movement or cracking over time.

Aftercare

Your reclaimed pine bench seat will benefit from occasional nourishment using a clear natural beeswax polish (we recommend Parr’s Clear Beeswax Polish).

Whilst all furniture is finished in a medium wax finish, reclaimed timber naturally varies in tone, grain and texture, meaning every piece will differ slightly from the photographs shown. These natural variations are part of the charm and individuality of handmade reclaimed furniture. As all furniture is handmade to order, bespoke and custom-made items are non-returnable and non-refundable once production has begun unless faulty.
