Warranty & Care for Handmade Reclaimed Furniture

At our workshop, we create handmade furniture using reclaimed and natural timbers. Each piece is individual, shaped by its past life and the natural behaviour of wood. This is what gives our work its character, warmth, and longevity.

Because of this, our approach to warranty and aftercare is designed to be fair, transparent, and reflective of the materials used.

Our Warranty

All furniture is covered by a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of delivery. This covers:

  • Structural or manufacturing defects present at the time of delivery

  • Faults arising from workmanship or construction errors

  • Failure of joints, fixings, or components under normal domestic use

If a genuine manufacturing issue arises within this period, we will repair or remedy the item at no cost.

Natural Timber Movement

Reclaimed and solid timbers are natural materials and will continue to respond to their environment over time. This includes:

  • Seasonal expansion and contraction

  • Minor movement or warping

  • Surface checking or cracking

  • Variation in tone, texture, and wax absorption

  • Settling of joints or fixings over time

These characteristics are a normal part of living timber and are not considered faults. Care guidance is provided with each piece to help minimise excessive movement, particularly in relation to heating, humidity, and direct sunlight.

After the Warranty Period

After 12 months, we continue to support our customers wherever possible. However, any inspection, repair, or adjustment work carried out outside the warranty period may be subject to:

  • Assessment charges

  • Labour costs

  • Collection and delivery fees

This ensures we can continue offering a high standard of service while maintaining fairness across all customers.

Care & Responsibility

To ensure longevity, we recommend:

  • Maintaining stable indoor humidity where possible

  • Avoiding proximity to strong heat sources

  • Periodic tightening of fixings where appropriate

  • Using recommended wax or oil finishes for maintenance

Full care instructions are provided with every piece

Our Philosophy

We believe in honest materials, traditional craftsmanship, and furniture that ages gracefully over time. Each piece is made to be used, lived with, and appreciated for its individuality — not to remain static or identical to the day it was delivered.

We are always happy to advise on care or maintenance, and will support our customers in looking after their furniture for many years to come.
