Rustic Benches & Dining Chairs
A good bench does something chairs can't. It brings people closer together, makes room for one more around the table and can be tucked neatly beneath it when you need a little more space. And unlike a chair, a sturdy wooden bench is more than happy to withstand the everyday demands of busy family life.
At Frank & Pig, we offer a beautiful collection of handmade reclaimed pine benches, solid oak and beech dining chairs, carver chairs and kitchen island seating, all chosen for their character, craftsmanship and timeless appeal.
Our rustic benches and dining chairs are perfect for pairing with one of our handmade reclaimed wood dining tables, creating a relaxed and welcoming country dining space. But their versatility doesn't stop at the dining room. A rustic wooden bench can make a charming addition to a hallway, boot room or reading nook, while our kitchen island seating brings warmth and character to the heart of your home.
Whether you're looking for a reclaimed pine bench, a traditional farmhouse-style dining chair or practical seating for a bespoke kitchen island, discover beautifully made pieces designed to be lived with and enjoyed for years to come.

Bench, Chairs, or Both?
The most popular setup is a bench along one side and chairs along the other. You get the extra capacity and flexibility of a bench where you need it, and the comfort of a chair back where people tend to linger. A bench on the wall side is usually the easiest win, since nobody has to pull a chair out into a walkway.
Allow around 1ft 6in of bench per adult. A 6ft bench comfortably seats three adults or four children, and we usually build benches slightly shorter than the table so they tuck fully underneath.
Standard dining table height is around 30 inches, which puts a bench seat at roughly 18 inches for comfortable eating. Kitchen island and breakfast bar seating sits higher, usually 24 to 26 inches depending on your worktop. If you're ordering for an existing table, send us the height and we'll match it exactly.

Seating That Works Beyond the Dining Room
Our reclaimed pine benches don't have to stay at the table. They work just as well as hallway and boot room seating with baskets stored underneath, as end-of-bed seating in a bedroom, as extra pull-up seating for a kitchen island, or as overflow seating in a garden room or covered outdoor space.
Our solid oak bible back, Devon stick back and beech slat chairs are sold in sets, with carvers available separately for the ends of the table. Order them alongside a table and we'll match the timber and finish so everything reads as one piece rather than a collection.
If you want a different number, a different length, a different timber or a different finish, just ask. Tell us what you need using the form below and we'll put a quote together, no obligation.
