Enjoy this original, vintage Scumble Model 1227 Herbert Terry Anglepoise Lamp in your home, a true British classic and always iconic. Featuring a two-step base which dates from the 1940s. The original scumble marbled paint finish was achieved by applying a rolled factory rag over the lamp which creates a marbled gold and cream effect.
First released in 1935, the original anglepoise 1227 desk lamp was designed by British engineer, George Carwardine and is the basis for the entire original 1227 collection.
The anglepoise lamps became popular with workmen and industry workers as it's design was useful for focusing light on smaller areas. Make use of this original iconic lamp anywhere in your home as a bedside light, desk light or as its intended purpose, a fabulous British made, task light.
Please note this lamp is in pre-loved, used condition. There are a few minor dents and scratches but its probably over 70 years old and can be expected with a true working anglepoise lamp. Not PAT tested and could probably do with a re-wire.
Enjoy this iconic, piece of classic design in your home today.
