After Annibale Caracci, an 18th Century sepia toned, framed and glazed etching by Bartolozzi. 

Francesco Bartolozzi was an Italian engraver, whose most productive period was spent in London. He is noted for popularising the "crayon" method of engraving. Born in 1727 and died 1815.

Showing considerable age with provenance - from the collection of former Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin and thence by family descent.   

 

Stanley Baldwin was born on 3rd August 1867 and died 14th December 1947.  Stanley Baldwin, 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley was a British statesman and Conservative politician who dominated the government of the United Kingdom between the world wars. He was Prime Minister on three occasions, from May 1923 to January 1924, from November 1924 to June 1929, and from June 1935 to May 1937.
