The Beauty of Reclaimed Oak

Oak is renowned for its strength, density, and longevity making it one of the finest materials for handcrafted furniture. Oak trees can take well over 100 years to mature, producing timber that is naturally harder, heavier and more resistant to dents and scratches than pine.

Our reclaimed oak tables are built from carefully sourced salvaged timber, preserving the natural beauty and character of aged wood while creating sustainable furniture full of history and individuality.

Because reclaimed oak has lived a previous life, your table is very likely feature original knots, grain variation, saw marks, aged splits, nail markings, and uneven textures that reflect the timber’s heritage and authenticity.

These natural features are not faults or defects - they are part of the rustic charm and individuality that make reclaimed wood furniture so desirable.

Where necessary, we occasionally use carefully blended filler or traditional wooden splints within certain natural cracks to help strengthen and stabilise the timber while preserving its authentic appearance.

If you are looking for a perfectly smooth or completely uniform surface, reclaimed wood furniture may not be suitable.

Delivery Information

We deliver throughout UK Mainland addresses using a professional two-person delivery service.

Due to the substantial weight of solid reclaimed oak furniture, assistance may be required on the day of delivery.

Your table will arrive in two sections:

  • Table frame/base
  • Tabletop

Wooden fixings are included for assembly. We recommend using an electric screwdriver for ease.

Assembly instructions and our furniture care guide will be provided following your order.

Reclaimed Oak Furniture Aftercare

To keep your reclaimed oak dining table looking its best, we recommend applying a high-quality natural clear beeswax polish every 4 weeks to nourish and protect the timber.

We recommend Parr’s Clear Natural Bees Wax Polish.

A complimentary pot of clear beeswax polish is supplied with your order. Once your table is in place, we advise giving the tabletop a good buff to help the wood settle into its new environment.

As wood is a natural material, it will naturally expand and contract with changes in temperature and moisture levels. Regular waxing helps maintain moisture within the timber and may help minimise drying and movement over time.

Important Care Recommendations

  • Use placemats and coasters to help prevent marks
  • Do not place hot dishes directly onto the tabletop
  • Avoid positioning furniture in direct sunlight
  • Keep away from radiators and direct heat sources
  • Use furniture pads if you have underfloor heating
  • Reapply beeswax polish regularly to maintain protection and appearance

Please read our full Furniture Care Guide before purchasing reclaimed wood furniture.
