Handcrafted in our Devon workshop, the Square Leg Refectory Table is made from real wood and, better still, made from reclaimed and old salvaged pine wood, so you can own your new furniture content in the knowledge that no new trees were cut down to make it.   It is a rustic and charming piece of furniture, and genuinely reclaimed, not made to look reclaimed.

The timber used is sourced as locally as possible to cut down our carbon footprint.  Your reclaimed pine wood table will be made from old beams and floorboards to provide a timeless, rustic charm.  They are solidly constructed to last a lifetime and each one is totally unique.    Only quality salvageable timbers are used to craft our tables - meaning the tables which are created will be long-lasting and sturdy.  Reclaimed wood furniture and reclaimed wood dining tables are considered to be investment furniture that will stand the test of time.

The Square Leg Refectory Table is a modern take on our hand turned Lidster Refectory table.  Our Square Leg Refectory Table mixes the vintage look of a reclaimed wood top with a modern, square and straight legged base.  The legs measure 4 inches wide and the table top is approximately two inches thick with a straight edge (not rounded).

The bases are made in the traditional refectory style, but have been made using straight legs to give a more modern look.  This table is available in either natural with clear wax or medium oak wax finish at no extra cost.   Please select the colour option at checkout.

We can make any size to order, but our standard sizes are 6ft, 7ft, 8ft, 9ft, 10ft and 11ft long.  The standard width is 3ft and the standard height is approximately 78/79cm.

Due to the nature of reclaimed timbers, there will be original knots, old nail markings, saw marks, stains and uneven edges which are a part of the original wood and not a defect.   Because reclaimed pine wood is often distressed and marked by the passage of time, a refectory table made from this material will feature imperfections which are part of the table's character and lend it a sense of history and authenticity.

Our Square Leg  Refectory Table is a versatile piece of furniture that can work well in a variety of interior styles, from rustic farmhouse to modern industrial.  It provides a warm and inviting gathering place for family and friends and can be paired with a range of seating options, from benches to chairs.

These tables are crafted with great care and attention and this does take time.  Every table is made to order with a lead time of approximately 4 - 6 weeks depending on levels of demand.    If you need your table by a specific date, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

We are only able to deliver to UK Mainland addresses.  We use a professional two man team to deliver from our workshop in Devon.  These tables are large and heavy so please be aware delivery is to a ground floor location only.

The table is delivered in two sections; the frame/base and then the tabletop.  The top will need securing to the base with wooden fixings included, but we do recommend using an electric screwdriver for ease.  We will supply the fixing instructions.

The tables are made in the following sizes:-

6ft x 3ft

7ft x 3ft

8ft x 3ft

9ft x 3ft

10ft x 3ft

11ft x 3ft

Table Height:  Approximately 78/79 cm.

Our reclaimed tables are approximately 78/79cm high and made to fit standard height chairs measuring from floor to seat of approximately 45cm to 46cm.   If you need your table to be made taller to accommodate taller chairs or stools, please let us know and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries at all with respect to chair / table height.

Your reclaimed pine table will need treating and nourishing from time to time with a coat of natural beeswax polish or clear wax.  We also ask our customers to give the tables a good buff with the pot of complimentary polish supplied once you have received it and it is in place (to help it settle in!)  Wood is a natural material that expands and contracts as it releases and absorbs moisture.

The beeswax polish adds moisture and shine and keeps your table in tip top condition.  Please do not place your table in direct sunlight or next to a radiator as this can dry out the wood and cause cracks to appear.
